Analytics in the Desktop app

Desktop – another hub for Video Analytics management

Desktop brings advanced Video Analytics capabilities into video surveillance. Until now, powerful case creation and management Analytics tools were limited to the web. With this release, Video Analytics is fully integrated into the Desktop application, making it an essential hub for users who depend on the Desktop for everyday video surveillance and monitoring.

One seamless experience for setup and monitoring. The new Analytics section in the Desktop app brings the same powerful capabilities users know from the web. Create and configure Analytics cases, define system reactions, track events, and view them instantly in the player – all within the Desktop app. No matter the platform – web or desktop – your workflow with Analytics stays consistent and intuitive. For details, refer to the new Analytics in the Desktop client documentation section.

Platform‑optimized Analytics.

Our Analytics tools are designed to fit the way you work – whether in the web interface or the Desktop app. Each platform offers tailored management options, ensuring the most convenient and effective experience. With this release, the Desktop client supports Analytics case creation and editing for specific Analytics types, while still providing full access to viewing and monitoring all recorded events. It’s the perfect setup for fast, operational workflows — giving you clarity and control exactly where you need it. Learn more about the enhanced Video Analytics experience in Desktop in the dedicated new documentation.

The Desktop version introduces exclusive capabilities that expand user possibilities and make working with Analytics even more flexible and convenient.

  • Set up Analytics at scale. Add Analytics cases to every camera in your layout with a single click. This feature transforms manual setup into a high-speed, scalable process – eliminating the need for individual configuration. Save time, reduce complexity, and maximize efficiency when managing large-scale video walls. Explore the full potential of Video Analytics in our new documentation section.
  • Quick-launch Analytics on a single camera. The new Add videoanalytics to camera feature allows you to launch Analytics cases for any camera directly from its context menu. Skip the manual configuration – default parameters are applied automatically for a seamless, one-step setup. For more details on how to utilize this feature, navigate to our new documentation section.
  • Intuitive visual indicators. Spot your Analytics-enabled cameras in seconds. Cameras with Analytics are now marked with a dedicated icon image-20251216-120915.png next to their name. This update makes navigation effortless, allowing users to instantly identify which cameras are running Analytics scenarios within their layout.

Bridge: advanced camera management features

O mais recente Ponte update unlocks new possibilities: connecting and managing cameras is now faster, easier, and more adaptive

All enhancements are seamlessly integrated into the familiar Devices > Bridges section of the web interface. For comprehensive instructions on how to utilize new features, navigate to our updated Bridges documentation section.

Dedicated tools for ONVIF.

In the latest version, we’ve taken ONVIF camera integration to the next level by introducing a specialized toolkit right in the web interface of the video surveillance app. This feature streamlines the setup and management of cameras, cutting down integration time and offering advanced control over device configurations. For maximum navigation convenience, all cameras now feature clear visual indicators: resources associated with the RTSP protocol are marked with a dedicated tag, and ONVIF capabilities are highlighted in the same way. This approach makes working with cameras fully transparent and user‑friendly, allowing to quickly identify the connection protocol in use and efficiently manage configurations.

Streamlined camera connectivity and configuration.

We have maximized camera integration speed by combining the power of intelligent auto-discovery with smart ONVIF automation. How does it work? The moment you select a camera from the list of discovered devices, our system instantly populates all critical ONVIF parameters – including name, IP address, and port – eliminating the tedious routine and risk of manual entry errors. With just a single confirmation, your camera is ready for live surveillance. For complex network environments, the system still offers full manual configuration from within the new Add Camera Manually drop-down menu, providing the perfect synergy between automated speed and professional-grade control.

Extended support for ONVIF services.

In the new release, users gain even more capabilities when working with ONVIF cameras. From the new ONVIF services tab, they can easily activate and manage additional features provided by the camera manufacturer:

  • Interactive PTZ (Pan‑Tilt‑Zoom) control. Take full control of your cameras with effortless precision. Bridge now supports real‑time remote pan, tilt, and zoom of connected cameras, allowing users to instantly adjust the viewing area without any extra software. Whether it’s expanding coverage or focusing on critical details, PTZ control is smooth, intuitive, and always at your fingertips.
  • Built‑in events. Bridge now processes events generated directly by the camera – from motion detection to alarms and configuration changes. Users simply select which events they want to receive, and the system delivers them instantly. This streamlined approach ensures you never miss what matters most, while keeping event management simple and transparent.

Switching between connection protocols. Enjoy complete flexibility in how you connect and manage your cameras. With the new dedicated ONVIF tool set, we introduced a capability that was never available before – instant switching between connection protocols. Users can now choose the best option for each camera: stick with the classic RTSP for simplicity, or switch to advanced ONVIF on the fly to unlock the camera’s full intelligent feature set. Managing this functionality is effortless on the new Connection protocol tab, giving users confidence, speed, and control all in one place.

New features in the Mobile app

This section highlights the key improvements delivered in this release. Additional details and minor updates are provided below on the page.

Video recording during playback. Never miss what matters most. With our latest update, recording video segments is as simple as a single tap. Whether it’s an important moment in a live stream or a valuable frame from archived footage, you can now control the recording process in real time – capture video segments of up to 10 minutes. Simply tap the new Record button in the player, then save your clip in the app, send it to your gallery, or share instantly via messengers or any available apps. As simple as that. Detailed instructions on how to record video segment during video playback is in the new Record video segments during playback documentation page of the Mobile app guide.

Buffering – guarantee of smooth video. We’re excited to introduce Buffering, a smart feature designed to keep your video playback smooth and uninterrupted. By pre‑loading content fragments into your device’s memory before you watch them, Buffering ensures continuous viewing – even if your network signal dips for a moment. With just a little extra RAM, the app delivers a flawless stream without interruptions. You can fine‑tune the perfect balance between stream quality and device resources in Settings→ IInternet and video settings → Buffering. For details, see the updated Setting section of documentation page of the Mobile app documentation.
